MFA, Directing: The Theatre School at Depaul University

it is my personal mission
to make theatre
that brings the marginalized
to the foreground.

as a queer, black man,
I know what it is to see oneself
reflected only on the fringes,
if at all.

I aim to change that.

the stories that fascinate me
are those of people, like myself,
navigating and overcoming the
invisible systems designed to
keep so many of us down.

In addition to my directing work, I am a faculty member of the National High School Institute at Northwestern University, (colloquially known as Cherubs). Before moving to Chicago, I lived and worked in Indianapolis, IN, where I served as Associate Artistic Director of NoExit Performance, and Creative Director of Young Actors Theatre. I have worked with American Theatre Company, Strawdog Theatre Company, and About Face Theatre in Chicago, and elsewhere with Asolo Repertory Theatre in Sarasota, FL, GEVA Theatre Center in Rochester, NY, and the Indiana Repertory Theatre in Indianapolis, IN to name a few.

I also moonlight as a Graphic Designer. I'm clearly a fan of visual storytelling.
